I tried Labyrinth Lord with a 5 year old recently. It was interesting because he was able to manage for a while but got bogged down in the decision making. Certainly younger kids can play pretend but I wonder if he was too young for "organized" pretend play.
I decided that if I were to give it another try I'd have miniatures for starters, both figures and maybe even terrain. Or I thought maybe some sort of LARPing. Of course then I laughed because that's pretty much just kids dress up play anyway, or playing house with dolls! Who would have guessed that about 100% of children are actually LARPers or early RPGers?
Seriously though, I'm also looking forward to introducing my children to the games.

Zo may be good options, and board or figure based games may be another approach. Let me know what works best for you-
