Check farther back, specifically the people who seem to have missed the fact that people often write capsule reviews right after buying the book, and do so from their own impressions. Attacking the negative reviewer for not being there when the game was released is like calling somebody uncool who waited for the DVD of a movie, watched it, didn't like it, and told all his coworkers why not. Sure, he wasn't there at the start, but his viewpoint's no less valid. He could easily have disliked it at the beginning, too.

Most of the arguing over 4E comes down to taste, and obviously people are very emotionally invested in their own viewpoints even now. Seriously, the world isn't going to end because people don't agree that the game rox/sux, and all the fighting over it just convinces both sides that they're the only one that could possibly be right. Neither one is. It's just a matter of taste.

Trouble is, the same thing is still going on on D&D forums across the country. It'll only stop when people realize that it's ultimately meaningless.

Consider that a review on the Edition Wars. Sum-up: We'll be waiting quite a while for the spite fence to come down.
