Monsternomicon

Converted from Phorums BB System

The Monsternomicon does weaken my thesis somewhat -- since it is a $30 hardback -- but the issue of immediate utility is still valid: a monster book is much easier to drop into play than a whole campaign setting. It's easier for a GM to say, "Oooh, cool beasties! I can drop these on my players in Greyhawk next week," than it is for them to say, "Wow, cool campaign setting! I'm gonna scrap my Greyhawk campaign and run IK!"

But I still think your anticipation fo the campaign setting -- which I share -- is the best evidence of my theory. :-)
