Converted from Phorums BB System
I read you Jeb - but... I guess having read Perdido Street Station (which I thoroughly recommend), I was all fired up.... I was hoping that magic would have been looked at - in terms of how it interfaces with science. the artificer class by Mongoose is a start - though it needs a lot more work!
as for the bad guys - yes there are plenty - but I was hoping that political bad guys would have been explored more - pirates - are they good or bad guys? by whose definition? Frances Drake was an English hero but a pirate as far as the Spanish were concerned. Look what happened to the N. American Indians 1860-1890 or the Aztec/ Inca cultures under the Spanish! So - all I was saying, it was a shame that these politcal developments, the cultural clashes and economic-driven land grabs were not incorporated into Iron Kingdoms history.
It is easier to justify killing beings when they are monsters. I would agree that the 'monsters' are far less killable in IK and for this I applaud PP - but... but hey - I am writing my own stuff so what the hell!
