Converted from Phorums BB System

I've read various arguments here and elsewhere over why one version of the game is better than another, yet nowhere have I seen the one important thing: is it fun?

I've played both version of the game a lot, and you know what? I had a great time in each!

The ncie thing about the d20 version is, I can easily pop in an adventure without my gaming group having to learn a new game. If that lets me get to run some Cthulhu from time to time, then I'm all for it. I don't know about everyone else's gaming groups, but mine hates to jump from one system to another. Every game system has flaws, at least with d20 games, we don't have to relearn a lot of mechanics just to do a quick genre change.

Only flaw I've really had with d20 CoC is the Cthulhu Mythos skill. It deson't work well as a ranked skill like the rest of the d20 skills. That's because the MAX SANITY possible score is reduced by your ranks in the Mythos skill. Now, Sanioty is on a percentile system. In BRP all skills are on percentile. So, in BRP 1 rank of Mythos reduces your Max Sanity by 1 point. In D20, CoC it does the same, but that one point is REALLY WORTH 5 (percentage) POINTS!

I would have liked to see the Cthulhu mYthos skill kept on a percentage the same way Sanity was. That way it "feels" different then a normal skill and meshes with Sanity correctly. Besides, what is the DC to know something about the Mythos?

I also wouldn't mind seeing CoC go to using the Wealth system found in d20 Modern.

And some more noncombat feats would be good too.

Despite all that, the game is fun with either rules set.
