Chaosium didn't "dump" Pendragon. They used it as security for a loan which they were unable to repay. Green Knight's plans suffered a setback due to the recession hitting Silicon Valley reducing their "spare cash". If "Mythos" hadn't crashed leaving Chaosium facing bankruptcy, they would still have Pendragon (or if Peter Corless hadn't been prepaired to accept it as colatteral then no one would have it...)
