As I play both VP and d20 FS can someone comment (constructively) on the extra d20 material. What exactly is included?
There are a few new prestige classes. I have only looked at them and can't tell you more than they look like average prestige classes. My players don't use prestige classes that often so I can't really rate them but I can describe them.
The Duelist: Class for dueling. Close to Noble class but gets bonuses for parry/reposte.
Free Trader: Class for trading goods among the Known Worlds. Similar to guild class but gets a bnuch of special abilities for trading.
Missionary: A priest class that focuses on traveling and communing with the poor. He gets special abilities to assist with his mission.
Symbiot Hunter: Class for killing Symbiots. Like soldier class but gets anti symbiot special abilities instead of feats.
There are a couple new feats: Nerves of Steal (you get to ignore suppresive fire), Steady Aim (you can make skilled full auto attacks.)
Some new weapons that include light and heavy machineguns.
Some stats for Decados Drugs.
There is also new rules for the use of diplomacy. You can use it for "Trading" or "Favor Brokerage." By making a successful diplomacy roll you increase or decrease the amount an item is worth. The favor brokerage rules a kinda involved but consist of making a opposed roll and by doing someone a favor they then owe you.
Rules for auto and suppresive fire. Auto fire attacks add a die to the damage. Suppresive fire forces a person to make a Will save to stand or move while in the firing area.
Also there are relics including:The Domino (a magic mask, rapier and cape), Cardono's Banners (Li Halen banners of theurgy), Breastplate of Vladimir, Tafir's deck, Jakov's Razor, and Sir Stephen Gregg Hawkwood's Marauder Armor.
Also there are d20 rules for creatures including Shantor + shantor mounts (mounts thrown on the Shantor's back that has weaponry on them.)
All the d20 stuff is scattered throughout the book and is fairly solid from reading though I havn't used any of it in my game.
