As I said, I've nothing against dice pool games. I'm using a dice pool for the game I'm designing. Like any mechanic, they can work well or not, depends on implementation.

Take, for instance, systems that use dX plus or less mods. They work well but if you put too many mods it may become unwilding. If one criticises one such game because it uses too many mods to be playable, one is not criticising the core of the mechanic.

It's the same with my criticism of Exalted's implementation of dice pools. What I criticise is not the fact that it uses a dice pool, it's the way it uses it.
