I second all of the previous comments. My CoC D20 GMing experience has actually suggested the D20 version is deadlier because D20 players tend to be less familiar with the genre/mythos, and consequently are more likely to have their ass handed to them on a platter while gibbering in a pool of their own fluids. The HP system, especially with the massive damage conditional, is only nominally quirky in traditional gun fights. The monsters are as deadly and maddening as ever....
