Yeesh, what am I here to sing the praises of Dan for if they're already being sung? *grin*

Okay, so I'm one of Dan's Buffy group (actually the Slayer, if you'd believe it.)
And I have to say _fantastic_ review, Dan! (And thank yous for the kind words toward the group! But you know it couldn't be done without a great Director...)

You deserve it, and thanks.

Personal tidbits:

Glass Slayer effect - Yeah, very scary. Especially when one sword blow takes out all the Slayer's hit points. But hey, increased the 'sharp, pointy things bad' mantra. And now the defense method Dan is using seems more..realistic. Even moving just a little out of the way of a blow should help lessen the effect.
-------------------------------

Yeah, that even caught me off guard when I realized that I'd forgotten to double slashing/stabbing damage.

-------------------------------
Vampire staking differences - Very glad to learn about the 'need to beat them up a bit first' necessity before getting too beat up myself. No plunge and move on, plunge and move on here. And the White Hat staking in one shot versus Slayer kung-fu rounds made for good character development and such.
-------------------------------

Well, you could "plunge and move on" for some vamps -- it's just not that easy, even for a Slayer.

-------------------------------
Plot Twists - My idea on why it hasn't really come up so far is that we're very accepting of the Fickle Footwear of Fate (you know, the other shoe that's going to drop...). Letting the bigger bad guys escape or kidnapping the Watcher or inconvenient vamp bites are twisty enough for us at the moment.
-------------------------------

True. However, you shouldn't necessarily think of Plot Twists as a way to undo things, necessarily, so much as a way to give yourselves lucky breaks. If your character were suddenly in need of... I dunno, a shovel?... you could spend a Drama Point and "write in" a discarded shovel on the side of the road. (With my kind approval, naturally.

About the only thing I would add is that I would have thought they would have mentioned Halloween in the bits of the Slayerverse. I know they mention holidays, but the Halloween (and Valentine's Day, come to think of it) episodes of Buffy have often been some of my favorites. What if you have a Slayer who doesn't know it's the vamps' night off? Or if her previous Watcher told her it was actually the _biggest_ vampire holiday and it has her really spooked and...

*blinks* Dan, don't you dare evil cackle...
-------------------------------

*ca-*

Oh, sorry.

-------------------------------
But really, _great_ review and this is definately my favorite RPG. The group's amazing, the book itself is fun for fans and nonfans alike, and my local game store is very happy with my sudden Eden patronage.

Keep up the fabulous work!

Beth, looking forward to the Director Screen review.

Thanks, and stay tuned!
