Why boost the cost with - what you call - 'normal' binding when staples will do? What would you like? Calf leather and perfect binding with gold-leaf edges?

This is a small-press company, not Wotc. If this form of binding (and it seems perfectly acceptable to me) holds the book together and does the job, what's the problem?
