This has been brought up before on the thread, and I think it's a very good point. I've played fantasy games where I very much wanted to do precise maneuvers (sometimes modeled after martial sword moves I've seen or practiced), and the GM interest and expertise didn't exceed "roll to hit, roll to dodge". I concur that, from what I've seen, tRoS is one of those systems designed for the knowledgable tinkerer. Sorta like the guy who buys a car that works as opposed to a sports car they can soup up, or the works-out-of-the-box computer system vs. a component Linux system. If you have the expertise, you more room to maneuver with the fancier system; if not, stick to the basic model.
btw, I have Harn and would like to have tRoS. Harn is the only fantasy system getting use right now at my house (DnD, Rolemaster and the others are collecting dust on my shelf).
