I found character creation in CODA to be actually pretty easy. Especially if you used the templates (which I did). It gives you a lot of freedom, even with things spelled out for you...but what I could have used was a reference sheet. This Edge does this, this Flaw does this, etc. But as compared to D20, character creation didn't take me nearly as long. I'm serious. I've done d20 now for some time, starting this campaign, finishing up with that one. There was a recent bout of character creation for Call of Cthulhu d20. Eventually, after doing all the X+X+X+X = X for skill calculation and such and writing the results down my fingers were about ready to fall off.

Now if only CODA could have written more background. Thank the Valar for my MERP stuff!
