'Blade of the Immortal' is a manga by Hiroaki Samura set in mid 1700's Edo. Lots of crazy swordfighting excitement (and some damn fine writing too)... Oh and it's published in the US by Dark Horse.

'Vagabond' is a manga by Takehiko Inoue and published by Viz. It is an interpritation of Eiji Yoshikawa's book 'Musashi' (which was Eiji's interpritation of Musashi's life).

The art in both is very beautiful.
