The system is a straight-forward roll 2d6 under your stat + skill affair. Margin of success is determined by the difference between the roll and the target, though difficulty plays into as well.

Since the average person has a stat of 2, that means that any unskilled task is nigh impossible. There is also some discrepency between what the text says (A Challenging task requires a margin of 3 or more to succeed) and the table on the character sheet (which shows a margin of 2-5 being a success). I have not gotten around to asking PIG about these issues.

For damage, each weapon as a flat damage rating (doubled in a Triumph (critical)) that subracts from the character's stamina. As the character's stamina is reduced and you check off the boxes on the character sheet, penalty dice are added to skill rolls creating a death-spiral effect. For example, with 2 penalty dice, you would roll 4 dice, but discard the lowest 2.
