Hi there,
With neither apologies nor righteousness ...
Historically, Sorcerer was written to the choir. I'd figured no one was interested except people who were already on the same page as me.
I had no idea others would (a) hear the music from afar, so to speak, or (b) be interested in the instruments and wonder how to use them.
The supplements largely consist of expanding the original text to these new folks, according to three points:
1. Sorcerer play should be passionate - Sorcerer & Sword
2. Sorcerer play should be about values (morals, ethics, standards for behavior, whatever you want to call them) - The Sorcerer's Soul
3. Sorcerer play should draw upon the interpersonal dynamics among the real people - Sex & Sorcery
Again, I figured at the time that I was writing to people who'd chosen to play in this fashion already, and who'd discovered techniques and modes of play that allowed them to do so as the first priority. Later, the target audience proved to be a bit wider than I'd thought.
Best,
Ron
