While I have yet to run the game for my group, I have also thought about this problem and have come up with the following solution:

1. Your descriptives can be a maximum of one sentence long. Run on sentences are limited by the amount of breath you have and GM tolerance.

2. Any break in the sentence, like a pause of more than a second or by going 'um' or 'uh,' ends your descriptive sequence.
