Scale personalises it a bit more. You're not in control of an army, or a squad, but you're in charge of one person who's part of a team and you can alter their gear and see what works best for them. It's almost like roleplaying, but it's a fixed arena and a fixed competition. We use the floor as our map, and books for scenery (not just geek books, books from our regular bookshelves)and it works. It certainly beats buying terrain from GW or some other company. This way, we've already bought our terrain from Penguin. Who knows? WizKids may even bring out terrain later if folk ask. They're seriously considering bringing out packs of gear in the future.
