Unreliable Narrator

I confess to liking the idea of using an unreliable narrator as a source of setting information in a game thick with plots, metaplots, and mysteries. I hazard it gives storytellers potency and leeway to go their own way while remaining true to the sources.

I would want the unreliability to be stated in bold up front, however, rather than come as a surprise as it does in fiction.

BUT there is a big difference between an unreliable narrator and an omission of important facts. IMO, there should not be a single "truth" behind the mystery to be revealed at in a later supplement. Instead, I think such books should give tools to storyguides to create their own "real story" if they so desire.
