The gun calculator isn't because of anything complicated. You punch in a few numbers about the gun, hit enter, and it generates statistics for the gun in a number of game systems. It's a program to provide convenience and time savings, not to assist in dealing with a too-complicated game system.

Incidentally, I'm in the process of reviewing a stack of about 25 different gun books. The Compendium of Contemporary Weapons just happens to be one of them.
