Well, I do not need more substance than provided by Everway. Besides substances is not, for me at least, tons of rules for no other reason than writing a big book to have rules which can be exploited.

Why more detail when there are spells, magical creatures and heroes. I mean why have a realistic combat system for example, if you have magic?

Everway simply delivers a role-playing experience for players who care more about the story than for the numbers and detailed rule.

Anyway, that is how I like it. If other don't like it, well do should not use it. There are tons of other RPGs out there, with more detailed better (worse) rules. But claiming that Everway is style over sustance is saying that D&D is rules light.
