No, not in Britain, but the copyrights in the U.S. follow the U.S. law based upon first U.S. publication. Thus many of the stories

You have difficulty understanding that this thread was posted on a U.S. website, discussing a U.S. movie and U.S. comic book series, discussing U.S. copyright laws. You are the one giving irrelevant facts about laws of a country that aren't related to what we are talking about, and assumed that those laws applied in the U.S. as well. When it was pointed out that you were wrong, you got on this anti-American kick.
