Converted from Phorums BB System

DAN WROTE

>>>The looming does contradict the show. But then so does the human mother thing. All the times with all the people wondering why te Doctor seemed to always end up on Earth, etc. and he or nobody else ever mentioned that he was part human.<<<

...and while they are rather modern themes, there is nothing in the actual show history of the show to contradict them like the ton of references against 'looms.' The Doctor never gives his place of birth or the identity of his mother. That's the difference. And it does explain his attraction to Earth. Why has it never been mentioned before? Well, why did he never mention he was a Timelord until the Wargames? Why had he never mentioned his two hearts until Spearhead from Space? Why did he never mention the name of his planet until the Time Warrior? Because he's Dcotor Who, not Doctor Heres-My-Life-Story.

As for the Master, he hasn't been in his own body since Keeper of Traken. Who knows what abilities he picked up with his exposure to the powers of the Keeper, numismiton gas and the animalistic powers given to him in Survival? At the very least, it is clear that his evil will is so strong that he can stave off death for a short time, as is evidenced in The Deadly Assassin, but with the combination of all the other weird powers he's picked up, it doesn't seem surprising to me that he is VERY hard to kill...
