The Champions comixs were bad. Very bad. The problem was the authors used the actual game characters that were in their games without applying poetic license. What you wound up with was a mess of redundant characters. Basically, five energy projectors (Two Ice, Two electricity and Marksman was basically an energy gun character). Redundant and uninteresting.
At least, when the authors of the Wild Card books converted their Superworld game into book form, they had the sense to change the characters enough to fit their stories.
The V&V comic book was fun. We were in on the joke instead of laughing at the joke of a book like the Champions comics.
