I liked the idea of Champions comics, but found them at times juvenile, at times bordering on offensive.

They always had sexual innuendo at the base, at times (like with Foxbat) blatant, as Flare was used as a pure sex object, with Freddie copping a feel, and so on.

They also always teased of a potential lesbian relationship between the female mage and her enemy (I don't have the comics in front of me, and I forgot their names). This was produced in a very immature and purile fashion; I could just imagine the creators saying, "Heh heh. They're hot. Lets make them think of doing each other."

This really tarnished the books, in my view.
