Campy Splatterpunk For the Masses

This film did what it set out to do, no disagreement there. But wouldn't it be nice if some of these campy splatterpunk films were actually scary or had some psychodrama in the background.
I don't even remotely pretend to be scared by Freddie or Jason, and I can't say this film entertained me for more than the notion of seeing some resolution to a franchise that plays into stereotypes, always has the villain survive (its part of the marketing, and not a clever turn of fate, I assure you), and never even pretends to want to make you think about events logically. But THERE WAS NO RESOLUTION. No end of the book.
I am not an intellectual snob. Hell, I'm not even a film critic. I'm one of the goobs that actually LIKED the Phantom Menace. But come on. Freddie v. Jason had alot more potential and I think that this was overlooked especially in lieu of (best Gomer Pyle voice: suprise surprise surprise) a potential sequel.
I can't be the only one tired of people making movies JUST for the money. What about plot? The teens in this film were tired stereotypes (...just most of the teens in the previous films). Horror films have come a long way, why turn back the clock to the CHEESE. It's got it's place, and granted its a valid genre, but why not at least FINISH the story, even if you ARENT going to really scare anybody.
