I disagree. They didn't discount Halloween 4-6. In H20, Laurie says that she did indeed fake her death to better hide from Michael. That there takes the events of part 6 into play. And they didn't mention her daughter, though I do believe that in parts 4 and 5 they mention that Jamie was adopted after her mother's death. So really, H20 does take the films into account. Laurie wasn't all that together when she faked her death, so I can buy that she left her daughter behind (perhaps she thought by removing the association, she was doing what was best for the girl?) We just haven't seen what happened to Jamie yet.
