RE: mageblade, magister and runethane from AU

Converted from Phorums BB System

The mind witch, esp when gaining the Psion Template at higher level, makes a great replacement for a psion, in otherwise psion-unfriendly campaign.

The classes are:

Akashic: skillmaster that puts the rogue to shame

Champion: build your own paladin/blackguard

Greenbond: A druid-like person who makes a better healer than a clierc; focuses more on nature spirits than on animals.

Mage Blade: can wield weapons and wear armor, wield blades, parry spells, gets some spellcasting. This is what us fighter-mages always wanted to be

Magister: This is your staff-wielding merlin/gandalf class, the ultimate of the AU pure spellcasters

Runethane: much like the magister, but sacrifices higher powered spells for creating runes, magical effects that linger until triggered.

Oathsworn: A variant monk. Really, I dont know the original monk very well, so its hard for me to compare the two; I get the impression that this oathsworn is a bit more about acrobatics and dealing with harsh terrain, and overwhelming DR rather than getting + bonuses to their fists. I think this guy MIGHT be a little better. Not sure though. In any case, they arent dependant on wisdom so badly as the Monk was.

Warmain: the variant fighter; sacrifices half the bonus feats a fighter gets to get some very cool special abilities. Like, at a certain level, gaining the ability to use a large weapon one handed and a huge weapon two handed.

Witch: has some spellcasting ability, as well as some special built-in witch-only powers based on their version of witch they chose.

Totem Warrior: gains hit dice, bonus skills, and powers based on the animal they choose; also like the champion has a build-your-own aspect to it.

Unfettered: swashbuckling, swinging off chandeliers dueling warrior.

I Love AU. it has become my official rules set in my own D&D campaigns.
