The Road Warrior goes into a bit of detail in the prologue about the state of the world: gas reserves dry up, nations quarrel, BOOM, the bomb gets dropped.

My friends and I used to make up our own RPG's back in the 80's when we got tired of playing AD&D. It was a hell of a lot of fun. One part Western, two parts Action Movie (with outragous vehicle stunts), and all parts attitude ("Hand the gas can over nicely or you get to talk to Mr. Gun, punk").

I'd think the d20 rules would fit this one nicely (if you use rules that are too realistic everyone dies too fast: no fun).

I took a look at Redline in the store: it looks like a solid little RPG.
