Oh, really?

I have to respectfully disagree with you, Pookie. In every sector of the publishing industry, which includes role-playing games, costs are rising and profit margins are shrinking; from the consolidation of wholesalers/distributors to the rising costs of paper, printing, postage and the overhead of new infrastructure costs like PCs, servers and company intranets. All are placing heavy demands upon publishers.

I’ve been involved in magazine and small-press publishing for the last 10 years and the costs of doing business have increased exponentially. Paper costs alone have increased more than 20% since 1999 and they show no signs of leveling out.

So, really, lets be realistic here...to suggest that there are "no rising costs of publishing" is not only false, it's also a wee bit naive.
