These are the same thing, they happen in paralell to each other.

No, they are NOT the same. If I successfully use Shield Breaker during a contest, it either reduces my opponent's AP or it shatters his shield, reducing his armour bonus and causing him a penalty to his Sword & Shield Combat ability for the entirety of the rest of the combat (barring various other possibilities). It MAY do both, but the two effects are quite distinct and separate. Simply shuffling numbers around does not reflect the use of Feats or special moves.
