It's a Robin Laws game. Some folks like his work, others don't. I don't. Combats feel too much like a fight amongst children with boppers. Glorantha has always been a gritty, nasty high-fantasy world, the Mahabharata crossed with Lankhmar. Personally, I feel that Big Eyes Small Mouth creates a much more "Gloranthan" feeling game than HQ/HW, which gets kind of blah and generic feeling after several sessions.
