Had it been a GOOD revision, I'd agree with you. As it was, 3.5's changes were haphazard, with spellcasters suffering the most (the saving throws for spells are low enough as it is without cutting bonuses in half for the few prestige classes that have such bonuses). If that was WotC's idea of revision, they could have stood two /more/ years of playtesting, consideration, and development, rather than throwing out a shoddy product after only three years. Frankly, I'd be worried that a revision of Modern would be just a cut-and-paste of the D&D changes.
