RE: Genre tropes as game rules

Hello,
I'd like to point out that the player actually has considerable choice in My Life with Master, when it comes to what matters. He or she may choose, at the most basic level, whether the Minion defies or submits to the Master.
Regardless of any roll's outcome, does this Minion buy into the dysfunctional relationship, or not? That's up to the player. It can be decided early, or later. It can change as play progresses, or stay fixed.
Since the player often has more than one Epilogue available to choose from, this decision and its details will likely play a big role in the Minion's final fate.
Comparing this to many other games in which players have plenty of authority over saying "Oh my hat!" vs. "Jeepers!", but none at all over whom they encounter and when they have to fight vs. when they negotiate, and similarly none at all in terms of who they consider the bad guy to be, I'd say My Life With Master scores very high in terms of player choice.
Best,
Ron
