While I have a copy of White Wolf's Malfictum I've not ever read it carefully. The Diabolist rules in BMoG however I did take a few minutes to ponder. Yikes they're powerful! Quite simply they pick up abilities and powers at a faster rate than fourth edition Hermetic Magi and they have a far greater variety of abilites to choose from. (Did anyone else see the rules for gaining hermetic arts if your diabolist happens to be a magi?) With the plethora of exotic magi types now in print there is no doubt that a sufficently advanced BMoG Diablist (if they exist, which is questionable) would be somewhat more powerful than any Hermetic.
