The Ace shot by Nazis was indeed a hard light hologram. It is possible to damage a hard light hologram, and it is possible to damage a light bee. Targeting a light bee within a hologram is tougher than finding the G-spot on a space weevil, and suffers a massive penalty, but it is nonetheless possible.
