However that is one of the reasons they released this Free/cheap version of the book was to promote Magnum Opus. In many ways the idea was "If you listen to our pitch for Magnum opus, we'll give you the core system." To be fair three pages of text are worth getting the system for, It could have been worse they could have done it by forcing you to sit through a two hour sales pitch at conventions to get your free copy. Keep in mind if they are giving a game away for free there must be some reason behind this. Recently Pinnacle Gave away the Deadlands Players guide for free (then started charging 5$ at RPG.Now) the purpose, to get players interested in a game that wasn't going to see a reprint. White Wolf has also offered some books free to get people excited about a product. (specifically intro kits) it's a fair trade off in my opinion.
