Beastial or mephistopheles, the rules in Magic Box make it clear that summoning is designed (by the demons) to be so easy it can happen accidentally (eg Fear Itself). The smart ones then make deals to avoid being bound, the animals have to be controlled themselves. Why didn't the other two summon them? I'd say maybe because they're both smarter than Andrew. Calling a demon to your side or casting magic is far easier and safer, most of the time.
