RE: Other settings?

Converted from Phorums BB System
The HQ system is very flexible and cinematic... I can quite see adapting it to Wuxia style games (the boosts from charms and other "common magic abilities" are perfectly in genre) and Pulp games, where it's relative "bloodnessless" and capacity for handling high-powered (and skilled) heroes would shine... This opens up quite a few different settings: ancient China and Japan in a Wuxia style, White Wolf's Exalted, all the Pulp period, "action movie" roleplaying and so on.
In fact, to me, it seems more in keeping with those kinds of universe than with Glorantha and the Hero Wars, especially given how hard it appears to actually kill someone - reducing him to -31 AP -, the apparent prescriptions against doing it - the rather preachy example on p. 76 - and also given the fact that if you win a fight, you leave unscathed, even if you took ten good sword blows - aside, of course, from a few bloody bandages.
For me, Glorantha has the potential to be a little bit bloodier, given its history (the Dragonkill War, for example) and its darkening future (the Hero Wars)...
Admittedly, the HQ system is supposed to simulate myths (Hercules hardly ever gets hurt, and nor does Odysseus), but in the context of a role-playing game, this seems like being a little bit too removed from the action...
