I'd just like to add two corrections and a comment:
First, Horrors *never* involve Vitalty rolls. In fact, you don't roll Vitality for anything at all.
Second, Sleepers are far more durable than Skimmers, because damage inflicted on a Skimmer is transferred to his body as physical damage (marked on the Health Level track), rather than being applied to the Vitality stat. As noted in the review, there are a few ways to recover Vitality as needed, but health levels are far more precious.
For the comment, yes, playing a ghost puts you at a disadvantage as compared to a projector - especially when you consider that a projector becomes a ghost when he dies. This leads me to believe that the game designers intended most player characters to start off alive (reinforcing the whole "this is a game about people" angle).
I think a review, even a capsule review, should at least properly interpret the mechanics that it sees as flaws within the game structure.
