I like OTE as well. But I wondered if something like edges cannot be imported there. Not as a whole pre-defined list of them, but essentially leaving it up to the player to define them. When an edge comes into play, the player gets a bonus die for all tasks related to it.

Example: Harry plays a James Bond-like spy. That is his main trait; he gives it four dice. He then adds an edge to that main trade; the edge being car chases. Whenever his character is involved in a car chase, he can roll five dice and add the four highest ones.
