Converted from Phorums BB System

Depends on definition of setting.
2nd Ed had less than 1 page of setting. The CAs were "there" with minimal clues on the backstory. (A very old edition of Dragon prints some CA material that was inadvertntly dropped from 1st Ed. and has alot of interesting background interspersed.)

The modules that were pronted on the other hand did add alot of setting and background.
The little "rite of passage" module in 2nd ed has some local into on the Pit.
Modules like Famine in Far-go, Legion of Gold, and Cleansing Wars added to the setting.

3rd Ed had the most in the end perhaps. The whole module series for that, Alpha Factor, Beta Principle, etc each added something.

4th ed's CAs have some attendant history and the book is interspersed with frequent little bits that add up. But nothing big till near the end.

Alt GW has a 1 page history and the back module/campaign add a little, yet sadly contradicts some of the opening concept in a way.

d20 GW has a great deal of history and setting sprinkled over the book. The opening stories and several sections have a little or alot of history and setting hiding in there. The CAs though are very brief. Though the Red Death origin was bemusing. Most of the mutants in the creature section have some setting/history too.

All this depends on your definition of Setting and history and whats usefull and whats not.

Anyone familiar with pervious editions want to do a comparison? Are there earlier versions (like maybe the Alternity version) that are heavier on setting details?
