Take a look at RPGnow.com if you are looking for inexpensive figures and terrain. For my 2 cents...I am using the D&D figures for my gaming and they work great. I have invested probably $150.00 into the figures and have enough orce to field what I need.

Now...I challenge any of the naysayers here to shell out the same amount of money for painted pewter figures of at least the same quality and get 115 figures out of the deal.

If you want to go cheap, go paper. If you want nice pewter figures buy Reaper or whoever you like. But...if you want plastic I think the D&D minis are the best you are going to get in that particular niche (Mage Knight figs have the huge base and clicky stuff which detracts from the appearance).
