Converted from Phorums BB System

1) They both roll and they add their Margins of Success together. In the case of autopiloting AIs, they simply roll certain skills for you (like Sensors, Navigation, Commuication or whathaveyou) allowing you to concentrate on firing (i.e. you avoid the multi-action penalty), or vice versa. A comparable examples would be the R2 units in Star Wars - they do things so you don't have to distract yourself.

2) While there is no hard rule for this it's within the GMs purview to count it as a stunt (giving bonus dice) or maybe a +1/MOS on the previous roll. Honestly, coming from 3 years of d20 now I think not having the hard and fast rule is the better way to go, because otherwise people get only the skills that allow for such combinations - and often to the bare minimum they will need to get the "synthesis" or "complementary" benefit then they will just neglect the skill algoether. Smacks of Palladium's physical skills - picked up only for the mechanical advantage and nothing else.
