I wouldn't describe the combat system employed in CORPS as being even close to "simple". Hell, you need to micromanage your character's actions to such an insane degree (action takes place in fractions of a second) that I wouldn't evem consider using it. The way attacks and defenses are handled also means players need a pretty solid understanding of the rules.

While the combat rules only take up a relatively small number of pages, I'd still be inclined to say that this lumbering dinosaur of a combat system makes Spacemaster look simple.

Sad, because everything else about this game really is simple, elegant and intuitive.
