Converted from Phorums BB System

Actually, it was originally 3 books, but the publishers laughed when Martin told them how long each book would be, and they made him cut them down. Essentially, book 1 covered everything in "A Game of Thrones" AND "A Clash of Kings".

Martin tried to cut it back to 4, then 5, but finally settled on cutting each (planned) book in half, making 6 from the three (not to be confused with the fact that in the states, each book has been further cut in half for publication, making 12).

I just wish he would get around to actually putting out book 4, it's been over 3 years now since book 3, he's going to start to lose fans if he's not careful.

Very nice review, by the way. And for the record, 3 and 4 player games work well, although in a 3-player game, we found Lannister has a massive advantage, having Tyrel and Greyjoy "NPC's" so close who are easy pickings.

Brian.
