I'm not sure. I appreciate not mentioning the organisations etc et c for fear of spoiling the plot, but I think that a lot of countries would find the kind of situation arising in Crusade of Ashes a lot less likely than the 'land of the Free', where in fact individual liberty appears slightly more limited than in Scandinavia.
