Not bad as in quality, as Spook correctly guessed, but bad for players banking on their characters' security with an Orpheus Group... which now lies ruined by the metaplot.

Crusade of Ashes takes characters out of their safety net of high tech and projection couches and kicks them to a seedy hotel with poor electric lighting... not just some characters, all characters.

Though the ray of hope is that the book does provide some Orpheus Group plots so those storytellers not running the ruin of Orpheus can have their cake too.

It's not a bad book; I think that it does what it sets out to do. I just think that the metaplot twist was good and shocking, but not very pleasant.
