Converted from Phorums BB System

Certainly, moreaus and gnolls are very different from how earlier editions of GW visualized mutated animals.
My response:

Why?
Why are moreaus impossible to use as mutated animals? I think the breakdown into Overt, Moderate, and Covert mutants is very workable, and a nice addition to the Gamma World rules.
Why are other critters such as gnolls impossible to use as mutated animals?
I had a glance at my copy of Savage Species; one appendix has nothing but animals as PC species, more than any GW GM could _ever_ use. There are websites out there with dozens upon dozens of moreaus species you would have only to lift one finger to use, to press your computer's print key.
Is it because we don't get the GW-specific "filler text" that goes along with said critters?
The author of this review was upset because we were told too much about the Pre-War era. Now we can't start with just the stats and a blank slate?
I understand that flipping back and forth between many books is frustrating, not everyone is the d20 collector I am, and that it would be much more convenient to have all this info in one place.
But for me, lack of convenience doesn't automatically mean convenience's opposite, distress. Unless maybe it was the holidays or something.
