Okay, so you're determined to like this product no matter what. That's cool. Maybe some of us are trying too hard not to like it.

Nonetheless, I still think you're missing (or ignoring) the points being made here. The main one being: I don't need to pay S&SS $34.95 to scratch out "gnoll" and write in "mutant dog man." It doesn't matter how easy it may be to do this; if this is the best they could do, they shouldn't have done anything at all. (Not to mention that they lead us to believe they were going to do more than this.)

I'm not asking for a lot of reprinted material. Honestly, I was hoping that GWd20 would present me with mutation rules that didn't just file off the serial numbers of various D&D beasties. I'd thought they would come up with something uniquely Gamma World. The kit-bashing you describe is not.

It doesn't really matter in the big picture, though. Even if one was to conceed this point, there's so much more wrong with this book that it's still not worth anyone's time or money, IMHO.
